The Door of Death

Director of Photography (Sony a7s 4k, 3 minutes)
Directed by Matthew Riley Alcorn

“The Door of Death” was the first scene filmed for “The Waste Land,” a feature adaptation of T.S. Eliot’s poem by the same name. It took a full month of pre-production to craft this single 100′ dolly move lasting 3 minutes. It includes a 225mm zoom, practical fire effects, a custom-carved 12′ wide by 8′ tall foam face, a custom castle wall erected in the mountains of Santa Cruz, and 15 crew members choreographed in unison to pull off.

Anticipated release: 2016
